Members News Flash - Living with Covid and the Red Traffic Light System

A Red Traffic light means the brakes come on, which slows down our activities with certain things coming to a complete halt.

Under Red, as a Double Vaccinated Venue, the following rules apply to our Club under governments Food and Drink Service guidelines.

  • The Club may be open with up to 100 people or based on 1 meter distancing, (whichever is the lesser) per defined space.
  • Customers must be seated and separated. this means that dance-floors , pool, darts, and other recreational activities cannot operate. (For us, this would include indoor bowls, snooker and karaoke as well)
  • Face Coverings are required for customer-facing workers and are encouraged for customers while not eating.

Although very similar to Level Two restrictions, it is a little bit more relaxed in some areas and we intend to take advantage of this here our Club environment allows.

Due to our size and extensive facilities we are deemed to be a three-venue facility, so it lifts our capacity to be able to cater for up to 300 throughout the Club at any given time,

so there is plenty of room for all, but like last time we will have to cancel or postpone certain Club activity.

Wednesday and Thursday night membership draws will be put on hold, as will Adjunct raffles.

The Restaurant for now will shut on Wednesday and Thursday nights and live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights will be replaced with the Duke Box "under Red, dancing is not permitted".

With the exception of Monday nights, when the Club will close at 7pm, the Bistro and Bar will maintain their normal trading hours, but still dictated by Club activity.

The Courtesy coach team will continue to provide their normal service. On Friday's there will be early evening live entertainment in the Club bar supported by Club raffles and followed by the ever popular Money in the Bag.

Under Red restrictions the Club is still capable of hosting events and gatherings of up to 100, but enquiries need to be made now to secure dates and preferred venue.

It is important that you continue to support your Club and Staff through these increasingly demanding times. Due to our sheer size, but more importantly as a

"Double Vaccinated Venue for Entry',

we have proven with recent incidences that your Committee, Staff and Club as a whole, continues to provide a safe environment for your enjoyment.

Kind Regards.  Lee Davis -  Chief Executive Officer
