Presidents thought for the week:

"Just keep swimming"

Who is the Oldest Member?

An update on this is Muriel Murray (28th January 1929) was leading the charge last week but was "pipped at the post" by Marjorie Young (22nd October 1928), who then proved to be to young when we were notified of E(Betty) Stamp who has romped home at the grand old age of 97, born on the 24th September 1924.

Barry Cummins (7th November 1926) had a brief scare when we were made aware of Ray Heappey (29th July 1927) but Barry still remains the older by a 7 month margin.

So our oldest male and female Member have been found. Congratulations Barry and Betty, what a great effort.

We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with our Membership loyalty system.  Unfortunately we are unable to redeem Membership cards until further notice.

Reserving tables for Membership Draw Nights

Just for the record: There was a leaner by the window behind the office at last Thursdays must go Draw that had a "Reserve" Sign on it and had been well respected, in particular as the Club was busy. I inquired staff and Committee about the sign and no such policy exists where tables can be reserved on Membership Draw nights so eventually I sat at the leaner with my wife to see who would claim it. We were soon joined by other Members and no one approached me to claim their leaner so we believe it had been dumped there during the day. Although it turned out to be convenient for me, my wife and other Members, for the record, we did not reserve this table.
